What's the role?
 

We're looking for a Financial Controller to build and scale the financial backbone that powers Jar's growth. You'll own end-to-end financial operations - from monthly closes to investor reporting, from building robust controls to optimizing cash flows. Working in a high-growth fintech environment, you'll ensure we're audit-ready, investor-confident, and operationally excellent while partnering with leadership to drive data-driven decisions.

 

What will be your responsibilities?
 

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Indian Accounting Standard.
  • Lead preparation of financial statements and manage all accounting operations (A/R, A/P, GL, Revenue Recognition, Fixed Assets)
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls and scalable financial processes
  • Ensure full compliance with tax, FEMA, ROC, and other regulatory obligations
  • Lead dynamic cash flow forecasting and optimize working capital management
  • Support CFO in investor reporting, board presentations, and fundraising activities
  • Establish cost governance frameworks and drive variance analysis with FP&A team
  • Guide external audits, resolve complex accounting issues, and manage financial risks
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner with business teams to align financial planning with strategic initiatives

     

What's required from you?
 

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8-10 years of experience, including 2-3 years in a controller or senior finance role
  • Strong expertise in IND-AS, financial controls, compliance, and treasury management
  • Proven experience with ERP systems (SAP, Tally, etc.) and advanced Excel/financial modeling
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • High integrity with a results-oriented mindset
  • Experience in fast-growing startups, managing P&L of ₹1000+ Cr, or listed organizations is a plus
  • A curious mindset, eagerness to optimize, and a collaborative team-first approach
