What’s the role? 

We are hiring a DevOps Engineer 1 to enhance the scalability and security of our cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes environments. This role encompasses deployment management, CI/CD pipeline development, Kafka maintenance, and the establishment of comprehensive observability across all systems. Ideal candidates will possess strong expertise in Terraform, cloud operations, and a proven ability to address large-scale infrastructure challenges.
 

What will be your responsibilities?

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions utilizing AWS, GCP, and other pertinent cloud providers.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for Kafka, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.
• Manage containerized applications and microservices, overseeing deployment and service orchestration using Kubernetes (preferably EKS, but also AKS or GKE).
• Develop and sustain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Collaborate with software engineers to define and fulfill infrastructure and deployment requirements.
• Provision, configure, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure adherence to configuration management tools and industry best practices.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across diverse services and functional domains.
• Construct and maintain operational tools for the deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and associated systems.
• Conduct infrastructure cost analysis and implement optimization strategies.
• Apply OpenTelemetry concepts to implement robust observability and tracing capabilities within the platform.

What’s required from you?

• A minimum of 1 year of DevOps experience, with a background in the operations, deployment, and maintenance of multi-tiered infrastructure and applications at scale.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including the development, testing, and maintenance of Terraform modules.

Good to have experience

• Experience managing distributed NoSQL systems (e.g., Cassandra, Scylla, etc.).
• Strong scripting abilities in languages such as Python or Shell.
• Extensive experience and in-depth understanding of Kubernetes.
