What’s the role?

At Jar, design is central to how we help millions of Indians build saving and investment habits. We operate at the intersection of trust, simplicity, and scale—where thoughtful design directly shapes user behaviour and confidence with money.
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll own some of Jar’s most important product experiences end-to-end. Your work will directly shape how users understand, trust, and build financial habits on Jar. You’ll work on complex, high-impact problem spaces, bring clarity to ambiguity, and ensure strong visual and interaction quality across the app. You’ll also support and mentor designers while partnering closely with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver meaningful outcomes at scale

What will be your responsibilities?

• Own and lead end-to-end design for high-impact product initiatives, from early problem discovery to final delivery.
• Shape product experiences that improve user understanding, trust, and long-term habit formation.
• Translate user insights, data, and business context into clear, intuitive, and scalable design solutions.
• Define design goals and partner with product and data teams to measure impact and iterate.
• Make thoughtful design decisions by balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Contribute to and evolve Jar’s design system, ensuring consistency while enabling speed at scale.
• Conduct and apply user research and usability testing to validate decisions and raise design quality.
• Partner closely with PMs and engineers to shape problems early, not just execute on solutions.
• Support and mentor designers through regular reviews, feedback, and collaboration.
   

What are we looking for?
 

• 4+ years of experience in product design, with experience owning features or product areas end-to-end and mentoring team members.
• Proven experience designing and shipping consumer products at scale, preferably in fintech, gaming, or habit-forming apps.
• Strong ability to break down complex, ambiguous problems into simple and intuitive user experiences.
• Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, interaction design, and information hierarchy.
• Ability to connect design decisions to user impact and product outcomes, not just aesthetics.
• Experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide design decisions.
• Hands-on expertise in Figma (components, auto-layout, prototyping); familiarity with motion tools like Rive or ProtoPie is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with comfort influencing cross-functional teams.
• High ownership mindset, attention to detail, and a bias toward shipping quality work.
   

• You’ll design for millions of users, many engaging with formal saving for the first time.
• Your decisions will directly influence trust, comprehension, and long-term behaviour.
